Right food on a budget

No right food on a budget

There is no right food for your pet. I have priced the food for both cats and dogs and it is very expensive more then our food is. There are a quality dog and cat food that you can buy on a budget.

I bargain shop for the right food for them, and what I mean is I buy what I can afford to get. You get more for your money with the least expensive treats and you can also treat with cheese sticks, hot dogs, chicken, and turkey. That is the right food on a budget.

Cook  chicken, fish, turkey for them

When you cook these items, that is you take a zip lock bag cut up whatever you have cooked and store it in that bag till you are ready to use it. It is cheaper in the long run to do that.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do buy treats for my dog but I get the inexpensive kind and use them a starter treat and I reward him with the upper treats for doing a good job.

My husband and I are in mid-training with our service dog so that is why I am saying that about the treats.  I look at it this way I have order food online and it is cheaper to do that than to buy one bag of dog food from the pet store.

I only give my pets dry food and treats only because they are fussy about the canned food. So I just stick with dry food and treats. They like that anyway.

If you have a young puppy or kitten due to a large litter please help the mother out by bottle feeding them if they can’t get enough of food from the mother. You can get a formula in powder form to feed younger babies.

The kind of food that I buy is dog chow and cat chow and when I can afford it pro plan for the dog and cats but you have to look at your budget. You don’t want to exceed your budget by any means. I cannot stress this enough buy what you can afford to.

I can’t stress this enough do not give your kitten or cat milk they will come down with diarrhea bad. That is when they are finally weaned from the mother of course.  Give them water like you would a dog.

For a kitten and puppy, I would start them off on canned food first till their teeth get strong and then as they get older start to introduce dry food. If you like you can mix the canned food with the dry food for a treat as well.

There is very good dog food on a budget as well as the puppy, kitten, and cat food. Be consistence on their food keep giving them the same food you don’t want to keep changing their food either because it can cause diarrhea too.

That is a very important part once you start a brand of food stay with that brand. I have learned through trial and error with dog food and cat food and it is not good to keep changing brands.

You can make your own treats for your pets And they would not have all those ingredients in it. It would be all natural for your pet. For example dogs like cheese and peanut butter. You could get those bones shape cookie sheets and make peanut butter shape bones for your pet.

Remember to adopt from your local shelter. They need love and home too.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions or comments feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

I agree that you shouldn’t go over your budget and spend money on dog food or cat food if you can’t afford it.

When I had a dog I bought him pedigree and I bileieve he was a pretty good choice in my opinion.

Also when he wanted a treat I would give him milk bones or a piece of turkey.

    Thanks for this informative post.
